Integrated Engineering - Description Of Mechatronic Objects By Characteristic Properties

This paper describes a comprehensive approach to modeling of system characteristics using AutomationML and the CAEX-role concept. The semantic definition has to be done on reusable role libraries, containing, models of abstract concepts for the description of characteristic properties. This approach is demonstrated by the basis of features for mechatronic systems and units. The roles defined here support the translation between different planning systems and data models and the development of system-independent component libraries.
