Quantification Of Mast Cells And Vpac2-Expressing Cells In Bullous Pemphigoid (Bp) Of Trunk And Extremities

The NeuroMastER-studies examine the immune disease bullous pemphigoid (BP) with a special focus on basic pathophysio logic aspects of environmental factors. After the previous localisation studies of the VIP binding VPAC2-receptor, the present study focussed on the analysis of quantitative aspects of the receptor expression.Using immunohistochemical approaches differences on the translational level of mast cell-specific VPAC2 expression were found under the pathophysiologic conditions of bullous pemphigoid.
