Iodoalkynes R-C=CI were obtained in good yield through a one-pot procedure by reaction of the aldehydes RCHO with diiodomethyltriphenylphosphorane first generated in situ from iodoform, triphenylphosphine and tBuOK. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
