摘要
Steel slag is a byproduct making up a portion of 15-20% of steel output in an integrated steel mill. Most of them are deposited in slag storing yards. Then, many serious environment problems have been resulted in China. Therefore, a new preparation method of open-graded friction course (OGFC), a permeable and porous surface asphalt mixture by using SBS modified asphalt when the coarse aggregate steel slag and the fine aggregate are selected respectively, was developed in this study. Marshall Stability test was used to evaluate the properties of the asphalt mixture. The results indicated that OGFC mixture is still stable with high percentages of steel slag. It was found that in the permeability coefficient test, OGFC mixture had a good performance of water seepage. These experiments showed that the utilization of steel slag as aggregates for porous asphalt mixture presented excellent pavement performance.
