The Rhythmic Characteristics Of Tibetan Folk Songs In Syllable Duration

The research of time duration plays an important role in language study, as, heightening the speech intelligibility and naturalizing the degree of speech synthesis. The language of folk songs is a special expressional form of national language for its rhythm can embody the native speaker's subjective perception towards the rhythm of their own language. Selecting "Tshangs-dbyangs-rgya-mtsho's love song" as the object of study of Tibetan folk songs, this paper, focusing on the aspect of the syllable duration from silent pause, the distribution patterns of syllable durations of interior prosodic units and the boundary of prosodic units by labeling the four rhythmic levels and extracting the parameters of syllable duration, found some meaningful results.
