Design And Performance Analysis Of Fibre Channel Network Switch Based On Link Aggregation/Optimization Port Circuit

With the development of fibre channel (FC) protocol, its advantages of high bandwidth, low delay and longdistance transmission make FC technology applied in storage area network. The FC switch has become an important factor affecting the efficiency of data storage in IT companies. Based on the research of switching structure and cache mode, the switch structure based on cross switch is selected. After introducing the design framework of FC switch, the receiving module, scheduling module and cross switch module of FC switch are described in detail. Among them, the receiving module realizes the real data caching, and the scheduling module realizes the data frame exchange between ports. FC switch further increases the link aggregation function and optimizes the port circuit from the perspective of flow control and routing lookup. In the process of experiment, first, the designed FC switch is tested for forwarding. 4G HBA card is used to connect one end of the FC switch, and the other end of the switch is connected to the disk array. The success of data forwarding is confirmed by grabbing the data frame of port 2. FC switches are cascaded to simulate the link aggregation scenario. The rate reaches 98.75 MB/s in write-only mode, 177.85 MB/s in read-only mode and 150.96 MB/s in half read and half write mode. In the process of data frame interaction, there is no frame loss or wrong frame. RDY signal is analyzed in flow control, and no signal is lost. In the routing lookup, the data frame with successful address matching is successfully forwarded, and the data frame without matching address fails to forward, which indicates that the routing lookup function of port circuit is normal.
