摘要
Electroencephalogram (EEG) plays a significant role in diagnosing dementia. Recent research in dementia is focused on detection of the disease in an earlier stage. Medications in an early stage are more effective if the diagnosis is done at an earlier stage. EEG abnormalities is present in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and dementia with Lewy bodies(DLB). This paper aims in detecting dementia from the EEG abnormalities in MCI subjects. Dominant frequency, dominant frequency variability and dominant frequency prevalence is compared between normal and MCI patients. This paper reveals that EEG based detection of dementia is highly desirable for medical practice.
