Racial disparities for COVID19 mortality in Georgia: Spatial analysis by age based on excess deaths

•Identifies excess deaths linked to COVID19 by race and age in Georgia.•Mortality rates declined sharply for children in all regions during the pandemic.•Mortality rates increased for older adults in most regions, and outside hotspots.•Relative risk of mortality increased for Black children and older adults.•Observed disparities demonstrate the role of multiple social determinants of health.
