摘要
•Evidence-based patterns of mismatching/matching use were identified using data driven growth mixture modelling techniques.•In the Netherlands, a high-income country, no meaningful class revealed constantly matched care on average, and mismatch between needs and mental healthcare use mainly appeared in the form of constant underuse and delayed mental healthcare use over six years.•Symptomatic individuals who received (delayed) care differed from those symptomatic individuals who did not receive care (underusers) only in the presence of suicidal ideation among delayed care users.•Overuse does not seem to be present, given the large amount of people experiencing subjective needs and the overall low MHC levels that were used compared to other participants that used MHC.
