Nickel sulfide nanorods decorated on graphene as advanced hydrogen evolution electrocatalysts in acidic and alkaline media

摘要
•NiS nanorods were successfully decorated on Gr by a simple strategy.•NiS-Gr catalyst shows the HER activity of 66 and 71 mV at 10 mA cm−2 in acidic and alkaline electrolytes.•The small Tafel slopes of 46 and 56 mV dec-1 were obtained in acidic and alkaline electrolytes.•NiS-Gr catalyst shows good long-term cycling durability (>80 h) for HER in acidic and alkaline electrolytes.
