A novel proteomic-based screening method for ovarian cancer using cervicovaginal fluids: A window into the abdomen

•We identified a potential proteomics-based ovarian cancer screening tool using cervico-vaginal fluids.•A five peptide panel could distinguish between ovarian cancer and benign pelvic masses with an AUC of 0.86.•Thirty-three percent of ovarian cancer patients in this cohort had early-stage disease.•Home-collection appears to be feasible with moderate correlation of physician-collected and patient-collection of samples.
