EphrinB2-RhoA upregulation attenuates sympathetic hyperinnervation and decreases the incidence of ventricular arrhythmia after myocardial infarction

•Myocardial infarction (MI) caused sympathetic sprouting and hyperinnervation in the infarcted border.•There was a differential stepwise increase in EphrinB2 and nerve growth factor expression after MI.•EphrinB2 knockdown aggravated sympathetic sprouting after MI.•EphrinB2-induced inhibitory effect on sympathetic hyperinnervation is associated with RhoA activation.
