Directivity Analysis of Ultrasonic Array in Directional Sound System

Sound wave, as an important component in daily life, has the characteristic of 360 degrees propagation, which is difficult to propagate in a fixed area, resulting in noise pollution and other problems. Directional sound system can deal with the problem. It modulates the low-frequency signal linearly to the ultrasonic signal, transmits the signal to the air through ultrasonic array, and demodulates itself in the air. Due to the narrow beam of the ultrasonic wave, directional propagation of the sound is realized. For this technology, directivity is an important parameter, which is related to the characteristics and scale of the ultrasonic array. The existing micro array research mostly uses simulation to explore its directivity law but lacks corresponding experiments. In this paper, the PZT transducer is used to build a directivity test platform for experimental exploration. The experimental results show that 8 x 8 array is an optimal choice for plane parallel arrangement, and the 3D concave array is proved to be applicable in directional sound system.
