摘要
•Pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has a prevalence of 2–4%, while routine screening of pediatric OSA is recommended.•Overnight polysomnography (PSG) has several limitations, therefore investigators are trying to identify potential biomarkers for pediatric OSA.•High serum Erythropoietin (EPO) has been reported in adults with OSA, while there is a lack of literature in pediatric OSA.•Our study shows significantly higher serum EPO levels in OSA than non-OSA children while EPO correlates significantly to AHI.•EPO may be considered as a potential pediatric OSA biomarker but more research is needed before its use in clinical practice.
