Prognostic value of myocardial perfusion imaging after first-line coronary computed tomography angiography: A multi-center cohort study

Condensed abstract: The prognostic impact of using myocardial perfusion imaging as a gatekeeper after coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) to avoid unnecessary invasive coronary angiography has not been investigated.From a regional Danish population-based clinical registry, we retrospectively identified 53,709 patients who underwent coronary CTA. Patients were categorized based on the coronary CTA results and the post-coronary CTA diagnostic work-up with either myocardial perfusion imaging or invasive coronary angiography.The study demonstrated that in patients completing coronary CTA, second-line myocardial perfusion testing seems to identify patients at low risk of future events.Image 1
