Antisaccades and memory-guided saccades in genetic generalized epilepsy and temporal lobe epilepsy

•Our study suggests that the frontal cortical mechanisms responsible for program and trigger saccades were no different in patients with GGE and patients with TLE.•The absence of differences could point to frontal lobe dysfunction in patients with TLE.•Differences between patients with epilepsy and healthy controls may represent an intrinsic feature of long-term epilepsy or a medication-associated effect.
