Frequency specific co-activation pattern analysis via sparse nonnegative tensor decomposition

•A novel frequency specific co-activation pattern analysis framework was proposed.•Alternations of Parkinson’s disease were detected with the proposed framework.•We proved that sparse nonnegative tensor decomposition provides an alternative to K-means clustering.
