摘要

•Follistatin-like 1 (FSTL1) secreted during myocardial stress has cardioprotective effects.•The myocardial expression of FSTL1 is reported to be elevated in heart failure.•We examined the prognostic impact of serum FSTL1 levels in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).•Approximately 50% of DCM patients had a negative transcardiac gradient of FSTL1.•Reduced transcardiac gradient of FSTL1 was associated with poor prognosis in DCM.
