Anastomotic leak following interval debulking surgery with or without hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in women with advanced epithelial ovarian Cancer

•Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy was not identified as a risk factor for anastomotic leak.•Overall survival was significantly decreased in women who experienced postoperative anastomotic leak.•There were no differences in individual postoperative complications between the two cohorts.
