•An advanced hollow NiCo2O4@C composite is derived from bimetallic Co/Ni-MOF.•Hollow structure accelerates the transport of mass or electrons.•Furazolidone and chloramphenicol are firstly and simultaneously detected by DPV.•NiCo2O4@C shows good catalytic activity for furazolidone and chloramphenicol.
