•Rapid determination of relative permeability in heterogenous porous media under carbon storage conditions is demonstrated.•A modified unsteady-state method is presented that captures relative permeability in rock undergoing active dissolution.•Computed tomography provides insights dynamic relative permeability within heterogenous media.
