Numerical simulation of shear-critical engineered cementitious composites structural members using a new two-dimensional fixed crack constitutive model

•A new 2D fixed crack constitutive model for shear-critical ECC members is proposed.•The confinement effect of stirrups on ECC is modelled.•Pinching effect and softening behaviors are considered in the proposed ECC model.•A new and practical modeling strategy is proposed for reinforced ECC structural members.•19 ECC coupling beam and 6 shear wall specimens are simulated with high accuracy.
