Skin structured silver/three-dimensional graphene/polydimethylsiloxane composites with exceptional electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness

•Designed and fabricated a “skin” structure of lightweight flexible composite material.•It shows different shielding mechanisms when electromagnetic waves passing through the composites from two different directions.•When the electromagnetic wave passes through the rGO-F side, it can be reflected back by the Ag layer for secondary absorption, which significantly increases the absorption loss.•Graphene bubbles formed between the skeletons of rGO-F can not only add electron transport channels, but also increase the internal reflection barriers.
