Taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic beta diversity in the Inner Mongolia grassland

•We analyzed composition and drivers of taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic beta diversity in Inner Mongolia grassland.•Taxonomic, phylogenetic consisted of the turnover component, but functional mainly consisted of the nestedness component.•Taxonomic and functional were dominated by dispersal limitation while phylogenetic was dominated by environmental filtering.
