摘要

•The effect of edge sharpness on phase-step diffractometry is studied.•Measurements in phase step diffractometry is performed by calculating the visibility.•Up to 10% bluntness does not alter the visibility and is allowed.•Experimental results are in agreement with theory and simulations.
