摘要

•Mexico is the fourth place in lethality for COVID-19 infection.•A variant located in AGTR2 gene was associated to T2DM in Maya from Yucatan.•People from Yucatan have a higher risk of lethality among Mexicans.•AGTR2 is highly expressed in lung.•An AGTR2 agonist is under study to fight against lethality in COVID-19 infection.
