Tobacco use among substance use disorder (SUD) treatment staff is associated with tobacco-related services received by clients

•Most persons in substance use treatment smoke, but few receive tobacco services.•In residential programs, staff tobacco use was associated with client tobacco use.•More tobacco use among staff was associated with fewer tobacco services to clients.•SUD programs, and funding and regulatory agencies, should address staff tobacco use.
