Reconfigurable helical lattices via topological morphing

•This paper presents a novel morphing concept incorporating topology morphing to a composite helical lattice structure.•Mechanical fasteners are replaced by a series of magnets at specific joint locations in the lattice.•The lattice transitions from a linear to a curved state post topology change.•Experimental testing and finite element analysis of topology morphing were used to characterise the topological change.
