Critical behavior investigated through magnetocaloric effect in PrSrMnO and Pr(Sr,Ca)MnO manganites

•We investigate the critical behavior of half doped manganites compounds.•A scaling relation between the entropy change and the magnetization was used.•The critical exponents were obtained through an analysis of the magnetocaloric effect.•The scaling relation -ΔSM∝M2+Ω yield reliable values of the critical exponents.
