Do LMIC providers feel that they may not realistically ever provide a high standard of care since the HIC surgeons and anesthesiologists always use newer equipment and supplies, which a LMIC hospital may never access? We would propose that the resources of the STSP industry be re-invested in the training of LMIC surgical team members toward a goal of surgery care independency, in parallel with continuing collaborative partnerships with their HIC colleagues Why is this model for addressing deep and complex LMIC healthcare delivery issues still promoted by HIC academics, humanitarians, and organizations seeking to assist and improve surgery delivery and safety?
