Electrode modified with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots supported in chitosan for triclocarban monitoring

•Nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots were synthesized by citric acid pyrolysis.•Nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots improved the sensitivity of the electrode.•Quantification of triclocarban was carried out in personal care products.•Simultaneous determination of triclocarban and triclosan was carried out in surface water samples.
