•Inuit are exposed to high levels of environmental contaminants.•Gene influences on contaminant and nutritional biomarkers in Inuit not well known.•We identified polymorphic genes associated with contaminant and nutrient levels.•Genotypes may influence contaminant-biomarker and diet-biomarker relationships.
