摘要
•CYP2J2 metabolism of arachidonic acid (AA) to epoxyeicosatrienoic acids display atypical substrate inhibition kinetics.•Simultaneous and stable binding of two AA to CYP2J2 increased distance of ω6 double bond to heme-iron.•Substrate inhibition persists even at high concentrations of xenobiotic inhibitors.•Atypical kinetics and substrate-dependency affect inhibitory constant (Ki) values against CYP2J2.•Physiological substrate should be used to characterize xenobiotic-endobiotic interactions.
