•Hypercholesterolemia has been shown to reduce tendon healing, causing ruptures and tendinopathies.•The relationship between some insertional tendinopathies caused by repetitive microtrauma has been reported.•In current study, we observed that patients with plantar fasciitis also had high cholesterol levels than control.
