摘要

•Nanolamellar MEA composite has been prepared through inserting an ultrathin hard layer.•The nanolaminate MEA with hard interface exhibit a good combination with high strength and large uniform plastic strain.•Strong constrain effect effectively suppresses the formation of major shear banding.
