•Artery phantoms are manufactured using PDMS to simulate the viscoelastic wall motion.•The viscoelastic property is controlled by adjusting the mixture ratio of PDMS.•The phantoms can simulate viscoelastic wall motions of human carotid artery.•The arterial walls having similar elasticity but different viscosity can be simulated.
