Seminal Vesicle Cystadenoma With Dysplasia: Missing Link To Adenocarcinoma?

Sir, rare tumors arising from the seminal vesicle (SV) glandular epithelium are mostly adenocarcinoma with only about 60 accepted cases reported in the literature1,2 . Adenocarcinomas present as cystic and/or solid masses and exhibit aggressive behavior with short survival (\u003c 3 years). Not much is known about the risk and evolution of SV adenocarcinoma as no precursor or precancerous lesion has so far been described although SVs are commonly resected and routinely examined histologically in radical prostatectomies. This is in contrast to prostate cancer where its putative precursor in high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia is well-recognized.
