Green emitting N, P-doped carbon dots as efficient fluorescent nanoprobes for determination of Cr(VI) in water and soil samples

摘要
•Green emitting N, P-CDs derived from phytic acid, and L-arginine were produced.•Environmentally friendly precursors allowing CDs doped with N and P.•High sensitive and selective fluorescence quenching induced by Cr(VI) ions.•Cr(VI) reduced to Cr(III) upon interactions with N, P-CDs in acid medium.•The method was applied to water and soil samples with high recoveries.
