Results of the experimental investigation of the discharge front propagation in the beams of powerful terahertz (670 GHz) and sub-terahertz (263 GHz) radiation are presented. The front propagation velocity is measured in the wide pressure ranges of the noble gas (argon, krypton) mixtures with nitrogen (0.1 - 2 atm).
