摘要
•We applied a calibrated near-infrared Ks-band Tully-Fisher relation to determine the redshiftindependent distance and hence, the peculiar velocity of the Norma cluster.•High resolution HI line widths and near-infrared photometry data were used in the analysis.•We found out that the peculiar velocity of the Norma cluster is relatively small, consistent with zero.•This may imply that the Great Attractor greatly influences large scale motions/velocities at small distances (redshift distances less than 8000 km/s).
