Low-cost and secure multi-image encryption scheme based on P-tensor product compressive sensing

•P-tensor product compressive sensing is fully applied to image batch processing.•Parallel encryption and decryption of multiple images improve the efficiency.•A basic measurement matrix is used to achieve secure multi-image encryption.•A measurement matrix update method with lower storage occupied is designed.•The size of the images encrypted at the same time can be different.
