摘要
FeSiB metallic glass is an advanced ferromagnetic material for next-generation magnetic core due to its excellent magnetic properties. High hardness and strength of amorphous matrix challenge its machining process resulting in the difficulty of being applied to the complex-shaped industrial applications. In this work, the surface integrity of FeSiB foil metallic glass was investigated in two-dimensional cutting. Detailed observation on shear band and micro/macro-crack were examined by scanning electron microscope. Micro indentation confirmed the formation of work-hardening layer, where the maximum micro-hardness was about four times than bulk value, indicating a severe compressive stress at tertiary shear zone. Meanwhile, magnetic flux density was reduced about 34% at most compared with as-cast specimen due to the plastic strain-hardening.
