Phase Structure, Microstructure, And Dielectric Properties Of (1-X)Pb(Zr-0.50 Ti-0.50)O-3-Xba(W-2/3 Mn-1/3)O-3 Ceramics

Ceramics in (1-x)PZT-xBWM system with formula (1-x)Pb(Zr-0.50 Ti-0.50)O-3-xBa(W-2/3 Mn-1/3)O-3, where x = 0.0025-0.01, were prepared by a normal solid-state method and sintered at 1150 degrees C. The crystal structure, microstructure and dielectric properties of the ceramics were investigated via X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and dielectric spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction results demonstrate that all the samples lie within the morphotropic phase boundary region. A microstructure with mean grains sizes of 1.71-2.11 mu m were found and the apparent density of 7.59-7.75 g/cm(3). The Curie temperature (T (c)) decreases with increasing BWM content. The room temperature dielectric constant shows a decreasing trend while loss improves with BWM doping.
