Capacitance of a Gold Electrode in Molten Mixtures of Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Chloride

The electrode capacitance is studied as a function of the potential at various KCl contents in the KNO 3 melt and various ac signal frequencies. At a certain critical potential, the addition of KCl is shown to lead to the appearance of an additional minimum in the anode branch of the capacitance curve, and an explanation of this effect is proposed.
