Partial open tumorectomy for a renal tumor in a horseshoe kidney with a close contact with the vena cava: A case report

•Renal cell carcinoma tumors in horseshoe kidneys are a very rare entity.•Management of localised tumors in horseshoe kidney is surgical and surgery is challenging due to anatomical difficulties.•Open surgery is usually the best option for tumors having a posterior development in the horseshoe kidney.
