•We provide a measure to evaluate features’ influences on a classification problem.•Our influence measure is based on the Shapley value for cooperative games.•Machine learning is employed to compute our influence measure.•Efficiency and balanced contributions properties are used to justify our measure.•We apply our influence measure to a dataset of COVID-19 patients from Spain.
