摘要
•Subclinical left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) is present in one third of patients with T1D, free of macrovascular and significant microvascular complications.•Male gender, HBA1c, glomerular filtration rate and BMI are independent predictors of LVSD presence.•Studies are warranted to identify patients at high risk for whom early screening is required and to determine possible associations between identified risk markers and outcomes.•The potential of interventions to impede or reverse the appearance of early LVSD needs to be further investigated.
