Mortality in children with positive SARS-CoV-2 polymerase chain reaction test: Lessons learned from a tertiary referral hospital in Indonesia

•A 40% mortality rate was found among all paediatric patients with positive coronavirus disease 2019 on reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction.•Most of the patients presented with severe or critical illness.•Half of the patients were adolescents.•The majority of the patients had prior exposure to healthcare facilities or professionals.•Most of the patients had prior underlying medical conditions.
