De novo colorectal cancer after liver and kidney transplantation–Microenvironment disturbance

•CRC after renal and hepatic transplantation is an aggressive disease with high mortality.•CRC after renal and hepatic transplantation has a low activity of the immune system, limiting therapies, namely NK based therapies.•The evidence of high number of cancer stem cells may reflects therapy resistance to conventional agents, namely chemotherapy.•The best option seems to be a close follow-up of the patients with regular colonoscopies allowing early detection and intervention.
