Direct Current Detection/Measurement System Dedicated for High Current Power Converters – Compensation of Alternating Flux in Magnetic Circuit

This article presents a measurement system enabling very low DC current detection/measurement over imposed on high AC current. The presented idea was realized and verified with laboratory measurements. The described DC current measurement system allows to detect mA direct currents in presence of (kA) alternating current amplitude. (Current detection/measurement system dedicated for high current power converters - compensation of alternating flux in magnetic circuit). The main purpose of the described DC current detection system, is to be applicable to industrial environment and manufacturing, providing clear information for the protection system. At this stage of development, the system is not designed and optimized for precise DC current measurement.
